In our mission to constantly monitor our servers for any signs of problems or abuse, we take any and all abuse reports received very seriously and encourage all of our users to speak up if they think they see anything suspicious that might lead them to believe something fishy is going on.

When the VPN.com support staff receives an abuse report, our response follows these steps:

  1. Shut down any ports that could be affected by the abuse in question
  2. Inquire to the data center/host in question and have them forward their own report.
  3. Drop TCP and UDP functionality immediately.
  4. In a hypothetical worst-case scenario (we say hypothetical because to date we've never had to take this route of action), the server in question will be shut down completely, and any user connections will be automatically reset.
